Messi’s father to PSG: Messi wants to join Man City

Lionel Messi wins the Ballon d'Or 2019

Lionel Messi has been linked with a move away from Barcelona and it seems that French giants PSG are keen on signing the player.

According to reports, the player’s father, who is also his agent, has informed the French outfit that Messi wants to join Manchester City instead.

The Premier League giants are managed by Messi’s former manager Pep Guardiola and the Argentine superstar is looking for a reunion this summer.

Pep Guardiola helped Messi develop at Barcelona and the Spanish manager also brought out the best in him.

It is no surprise that Messi wants to work with the Spanish manager once again. Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world and he could help the Argentine win more trophies in the coming years.

Furthermore, reports also claim that Lionel Messi has already spoken to Guardiola about a potential transfer to Manchester City this summer.

The Argentine has informed the Manchester City manager that he wants to win the next two Balon d’Or awards and he believes that Guardiola could help him achieve that goal.

Messi said to Pep: “I want to win the next two Ballon d’Or awards, and I can only do that with you.”

Messi is frustrated with the lack of ambition at Barcelona and the Spanish giants failed to win the League title or the Champions League this past season.

It seems that the Argentine is keen on winning the major trophies once again and he is not afraid to move on in order to achieve his goals.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can convince the player to change his mind and stay at the Spanish club beyond this summer.
