Inter Milan

After recording a thrilling 3-3 draw at Barcelona in midweek, Inter Milan will turn their attention to the Serie A where they will hope to record a second consecutive win for the second time this season.

The hosts took a step closer to qualifying for the next round of the UEFA Champions League when they held Barcelona to a 3-3 in Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Goals from Nicolo Barella, Lautaro Martinez and Robin Gosens ensured that Simone Inzaghi’s side now have their UCL destinies in their hands ahead of their last two games against Bayern Munich and Viktoria Plzen.

Despite success in Europe, their league form has been poor. The hosts come into this fixture sitting in seventh place, eight points off the pace in Serie A title race. They have lost five of their league games this season (W5). After recording a 2-1 win over Sassuolo last time out, they will now look to notch consecutive league wins for the first time since matchday two in order to avoid losing further ground in the race for the Scudetto.

Inzaghi’s lost their last home league game 2-1 against Roma, but with three wins prior, the Nerazzurri have used the San Siro to their advantage this campaign. After their impressive showing in Camp Nou, they will feel confident of getting back to winning ways against Salernitana, especially as they’ve won their last two Serie A head-to-heads by a 5-0 scoreline, and could now become the first team to defeat a single opponent in three consecutive top-flight matches by a 5+ goal margin.

Possible Inter Milan starting line-up

Andre Onana; Danilo D’Ambrosio, Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Bastoni; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Kristjan Asllani, Hakan Calhanoglu, Federico Dimarco; Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez.

Injured: Marcelo Brozovic, Alex Cordaz, Joaquin Correa

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Salernitana

Salernitana will also attempt to record a second consecutive league win when they travel to Milan on Sunday.

The visiting team ended a run of five games without a win in the league last time out when they defeated out-of-form Verona 2-1 at home. The win was just their second win of the season (D4, L3) and has given Salernitana boss Davide Nicola some time in the dugout.

The Italian was reportedly facing the sack last weekend, to turn things around for his side who currently lie in eleventh place after nine games.

Having survived by the slightest of margins last season, the visitors will not want to be involved in the relegation battle this season. But given that they are yet to win consecutive games this season, things might not change much for boss Davide Nicola when he takes his side to San Siro.

Possible Salernitana starting line-up

Luigi Sepe; Norbert Gyomber, Flavius Daniluc, Matteo Lovato; Antonio Candreva, Lassana Coulibaly, Giulio Maggiore, Tonny Vilhena, Pasquale Mazzocchi; Krzystof Piatek, Federico Bonazzoli.

Injured: Giulio Maggiore, Franck Ribery

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Ivan Radovanovic
