Sheffield 3-0 Chelsea: Chelsea’s Champions league hopes in doubt

Sheffield 3-0 Chelsea Chelsea's Champions league hopes in doubt

Chelsea crashed to a 3-0 defeat against Sheffield United in the Premier League today.

Goals from David McGoldrick and Oli McBurnie secured a morale-boosting win for the Blades at home.

The defeat will come as a major setback to Chelsea’s top-four hopes. The Blues are now third in the table with 60 points from 35 games.

However, Leicester and Manchester United have a game in hand, and if they win, they will be third and fourth in the table respectively.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea manager to finish in the top four this season. Missing out on Champions League football could be catastrophic for them.

The Blues have spent big money on Werner and Ziyech already, and they will be hoping to challenge for the top honours next season.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United are sixth in the table with 54 points. They have a good chance of making it to the Europa League next season.

Chris Wilder’s side have had a good season so far, and they will be looking to finish strongly. The stunning 3-0 win over Chelsea today will have given them a lot of confidence.

Despite having inferior players, they managed to dominate the Blues completely.

Frank Lampard will be thoroughly disappointed with the performance of his players. Chelsea were favourites heading into the game, and they should have picked up the three points.
