Wolfsberger 1-4 Tottenham: Mourinho’s men cruise to a comfortable away win

Tottenham picked up a 4-1 win over Wolfsberger in the Europa League earlier tonight.

The Premier League side opened the scoring for the London club on the 13th minute and Gareth Bale doubled their advantage 15 minutes later.

Brazilian winger Lucas Moura scored the third goal of the game for Tottenham on the 34th minute and

The Premier League club were in complete control heading into half time.

Jose Mourinho needed a morale-boosting win tonight after their recent run of performances in the Premier League and tonight’s result will certainly give his side a much-needed relief.

Spurs will be hoping to build on this and get their league campaign back on track now. They will be desperate for a top four finish. 

The home side got back into the game through Michael Liendl on the 55 th minute. Wolfsberger were awarded a penalty after Moussa Sissoko’s foul in the box.

The home side struggled to create too many clear cut chances throughout the game and Spurs managed to hold on to their advantage without any significant problems.

Carlos Vinicius wrapped up the scoring on the 88 th minute to give the Premier League side a vital away advantage.

Tottenham will be firm favourites to go through to the next round after their performance in the first leg tonight.

Wolfsberger would have expected to put up more of a fight at home and they will be disappointed with their showing tonight.

Spurs have been vulnerable in the recent weeks but the hosts failed to put them under too much pressure here.
