Perth Glory

Perth Glory’s miserable start to the season continued on Sunday as they could only settle for a 1-1 draw with Central Coast Mariners.

In a frustrating game at Gosford, Central Coast Mariners took the lead in the second half through Jason Cummings. But Daniel Stynes equalised for Glory with the last kick of the game to earn them a valuable point.

Despite the positive draw, Richard Garcia’s side remained rooted at the bottom of the table after playing eight games. They have won just two games this season (D2, L4) and are scoring goals at a low rate – 0.86 goals per game.

However, they have also remained tight at the back, having conceded just seven goals so far. They will hope to get a better result in this game.

Possible Perth Glory starting line-up

Liam Reddy; Jack Clisby, Darryl Lachman, Jonathan Aspropotamitis, Antonee Burke-Gilroy; Osama Malik, Brandon O’Neill, Antonee Gilroy; Andy Keogh, Bruno Fornaroli, Adrian Sardinero.

Injured: Luke Bodnar, Brad Jones

Doubtful: None

Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar will look to put their disappointing loss to Wellington Phoenix behind them when they travel to Perth on Friday.

The visitors were beaten 3-0 by Wellington Phoenix in their last outing, leaving them with just eleven points after eleven games this season.

They are currently sitting in 11th place and are only three points ahead of their hosts.

Given their inferior goal difference, they are in danger of dropping to the bottom of the table If they lose this game.

But if history is anything to go by, they will be confident of avoiding being that they have won each of their last two meetings against Perth Glory.

Possible Brisbane Roar starting line-up

Macklin Freke; Corey Brown, Kai Trewin, Scott Neville, Jack Hingert; Jesse Daley, Ville Matti Steinman; Jay O’Shea, Henry Hore, Nikola Mileusnic; Rahmat Akbari.
