Chelsea update: Abramovich sets his sights on Haaland, Tuchel warned Werner

Erling Haaland-Borussia Dortmund

Abramovich keen on bringing Haaland

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich appears hellbent on bringing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland to Stamford Bridge this summer as he sees it as a personal goal.

However, the Blues will face tough competition for the Norwegian’s signature, with many of Europe’s top clubs waiting in the queue.

Haaland has been tearing up both the Bundesliga and Champions League this season and also cited as a generational talent in the ilk of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 20-year-old has a contract clause worth £64m, which will come to fruition in 2022 but the Blues would be required to pay a certain amount of fee if they are to sign him this summer.

There are also reports of late suggesting that Timo Werner could be involved in a player plus cash deal for Haaland.

Tuchel issues warning to strikers ahead of Atletico game

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has warned the attacking department to step up ahead of their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

The Londoners have been rather mediocre in the attack since Tuchel’s appointment although they had racked impressive results due to strong defence.

“The results are not crazily bad. We need to be more precise and focus better on our decision-making, the technique, how to finish — and these are the points that we work on.

“Our strikers are very aware of that and they have the highest demands of themselves. We are not pointing fingers to make this clear.”
