Chelsea and Tottenham are in race for Lamare Bogarde

Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in signing the Feyenoord starlet Lamare Bogarde. As per Football Insider, the Blues are now leading the race for the youngster. They are confident that they have leapfrogged Spurs in the chase.

They are not the only ones after Bogarde this summer. Several European heavyweights are keen on the Dutch starlet. The likes of Dortmund, Schalke, Juventus and Milan are keeping tabs on the player. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can lure him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Blues have shifted their focus to youth players under Frank Lampard and Bogarde would be a quality signing for them. The 16-year-old is highly rated across Europe and he could develop into a first-team star for Chelsea.

The Blues have given opportunities to the likes of Tomori, Mount, Abraham and Gilmour this season and Lampard could nurture Bogarde into a first-team player as well.

Spurs will have to move quickly if they want to beat their cross-town rivals to the signing. Both clubs will be an attractive prospect for the player but Bogarde might be better off joining Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho’s track record with youngsters makes grim reading and Bogarde could get more first-team chances at Stamford Bridge.

It would be a solid long term investment for Chelsea if they manage to get him in. A signing like this now could save them millions in future.
