Chelsea: Player’s Salary and Possible changes in next season

Chelsea - Player's Salary and possible changes in next season

Chelsea 2019-20

Chelsea had a difficult season in 2019-20. Starting with the transfer restriction, former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard was entrusted with the management of the blues, after Maurizio Sarri left Chelsea to join Juventus. Sarri had a brief and mixed season, which ended with European cup win.

Frank Lampard had to start with a young brigade. After a shaky start against Manchester United, which ended in a 0-4 loss against Manchester United, it somehow managed to turn back the wheel.

Immensely successful old brigade took a backseat and Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Kurt Zouma and Reece James got confidence to perform under new coach. As the league started to unfold, Chelsea’s run in the league, which was halted by Coronavirus pandemic, was like a consistent fourth position holder.

In 2019-20 season Chelsea outperformed teams like Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, without a signing at the start of the season.

Lampard had to go back to his stalwarts, Oliver Giroud, Pedro and Alonso, when Tammy Abraham got injured. Earlier the Golden Boot in UEFA Europa cup, Oliver Giroud was snubbed by Chelsea manager for long but the old-guard made a comeback.
