Lorient

Lorient will welcome Monaco to Stade du Moustoir looking to take maximum points that will push them above their opponents in the Ligue 1 table.

The hosts sit one place and two points behind Monaco ahead of this round of games, having taken 31 points from 17 league games (W9, D4, D4).

The most recent of those wins came in their last league outing when they defeated Angers 2-1 courtesy of a late own goal by Angers’ Abdallah Sima and a strike from Enzo Le Fee. The win ended a run of six Ligue 1 games without a win (D3, L3) and restored faith in first-team coach Régis Le Bris, who was on the brink.

They will not welcome Monaco looking to build on that win and a 6-0 trashing of Chataigneraie in the Coupe de France last weekend. However, history is on their side, too, as they have not lost any of their previous three games against Monaco.

Possible Lorient starting line-up

Vito Mannone, Gédéon Kalulu, Chrislain Matsima, Montassar Talbi, Vincent Le Goff, Laurent Abergel, Bonke Innocent, Yoann Cathline, Enzo Le Fée, Dango Ouattara, Terem Moffi.

Injured: Julien Laporte, Yvon Mvogo, Théo Le Bris

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Monaco

Monaco had a bad Coup De France outing, unlike Lorient, as they lost on penalties to lowly Rodez.

But in the league, they are in a good shop, having won the two league games they have played since the league restarted.

Their aim will now be to get a third straight win and to rekindle their quest for a top-four finish this season. Their chances of a crack at the top three places also remain a possibility, as they are trailing third-placed Marseille by just three points.

However, things change quickly if they slip as just six points separate third and seventh in the table.

A win here is a possibility, given that Monaco have the second-best away record in the league this season, having won six and drawn one (L1) of their away games while scoring 17 times.

Possible Monaco starting line-up

Alexander Nubel, Vanderson, Guillermo Maripán, Axel Disasi, Caio Henrique, Youssouf Fofana, Mohamed Camara, Krepin Diatta, Eliesse Ben Seghir, Aleksandr Golovin, Breel Embolo.

Injured: Kevin Volland, Willem Geubbels

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
