Pochettino has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has been identified as a top target for the managerial role at Manchester United.

Having failed to sign the former Spurs manager in 2018, the Red Devils are keen on his arrival this time around.

Recent reports are stating that Pochettino is ready to leave the French capital and favour a move to Old Trafford midway through the season.

With other candidates like Luis Enrique and Erik ten Hag not interested, United’s hierarchy sees Pochettino as the ideal man to lead the club after the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keeping tabs on Zinedine Zidane and could look to appoint him as the new manager in the event of Pochettino’s departure.

According to a new report from The Sun, the PSG locker room is increasingly confident of Zidane’s imminent arrival to Parc Des Princes.

Zidane himself is a managerial target for the Red Devils but he is not interested in moving to the Premier League.

The French gaffer has been without a job since leaving Real Madrid at the end of the last season.

The former Juventus star is also reportedly interested in taking over at the French national team, with Didier Deschamps’ contract expiring after next year’s old cup.

Will Zidane’s arrival convince Mbappe to stay at PSG?

Kylian Mbappe’s contract expires at the end of this season and PSG are at the risk of losing him for free.

Mbappe was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid last summer but PSG turned down the Spanish club’s lucrative offers.

Los Blancos are still leading the race for the 22-year-old and would try to reach a pre-agreement in January if he doesn’t agree over a contract extension.

In the event of Zidane’s arrival at PSG, Mbappe then could have a change of mind about leaving the French capital.

Firstly, Mbappe was a dream target for Zidane at Madrid and the young forward also looked keen on playing under his compatriot.

Mbappe may have been worried about PSG’s lack of success in the Champions League. However, the Ligue 1 giants can change their fortunes with Zidane, who has won the UCL trophy three times at Madrid.

Pochettino has recently opened up on the difficulties of managing superstars like Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar. It has also been reported as the key reason for his willingness to leave.

As with Zidane, he is considered as one of the best man-managers, having managed superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos at Bernabeu.
