Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City during the summer transfer window the Premier League champions failed with multiple offers for the England international.

Club chairman Daniel Levy refused to sell the England international but it seems that Manchester City are prepared to reignite their interest in signing the 28-year-old striker when the transfer window reopens in January.

Tottenham have recently appointed Antonio Conte as their manager and it seems that the Italian’s first big challenge will be to hold onto his talisman striker in January.

Kane has not been able to replicate his peak form in the Premier League this season but he managed to score a hat trick for England against Albania last night.

There is no doubt that Kane is a world-class player who could improve most teams in world football.

Manchester City have struggled without a recognised goal scorer and the signing of Kane could improve them immensely.

Since the departure of Sergio Aguero, Pep Guardiola has had to use wingers as makeshift strikers.

According to ESPN, Manchester City are now willing to test Tottenham’s resolve once again.

Apparently, the striker is valued at more than £150 million and he has a contract until the summer of 2024 with the London club.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester City are prepared to pay over the odds to secure the England international’s services in the coming months.

The player was tempted to join Manchester City in the summer and it will be interesting to see how he reacts if a concrete offer is on the table in January.
