Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United manager, has confirmed David de Gea along with Paul Pogba will miss Manchester United’s Premier League encounter with Liverpool on Sunday. United are two points clear of the relegation zone while Liverpool have an eight-point lead at the top.

Goalkeeper David de Gea appeared to suffer a groin injury during Spain’s 1-1 draw against Sweden in Euro 2020 qualifying on Tuesday.

Argentine Sergio Romero will replace de Gea for Liverpool match if De Gea is ruled out with the injury that forced him off in the second half of Spain’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Sweden on Tuesday. Goalkeeper David de Gea is a serious question mark for the game – he will have scans on Thursday on a groin injury.

Pogba, on the other hand, has been obstructed by an ankle injury this season and played only twice for United in September. Pogba last played in the 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal on 30 September. He missed United’s 1-0 defeat against Newcastle before the international break and has failed to recover on time to face Liverpool.

He was involved part in warm-weather training in Dubai recently but will also be reduced to the role of spectator as United aims to deal with its great rival a first league defeat of the season.
