Olivier Giroud scored the only goal as Milan edged out Torino in the midweek Serie A clash.

AC Milan continued their undefeated run in Serie A with a 1-0 victory over Torino at home.

Olivier Giroud put Rossoneri ahead in the 14th minute, and it also turned out to be the only goal of the game.

Torino didn’t prove to be much of a threat, with Milan bagging three points to clinch the top spot.

Giroud continues to prove his worth

Olivier Giroud turns out to be a great addition for Rossoneri, with the French striker coming up with goods whenever he is on the pitch. Last night against Torino, the 35-year-old started in the attack and immediately made his presence felt by finding the nets, thus extending his tally to 4 goals in 6 league games this season. While he may not be the first choice for Stefano Pioli, Giroud’s experience would be vital for Rossoneri in their quest for the Scudetto.

Milan’s impressive form continues, jump to the top of the table

Milan’s Champions League form might be worrying, but it is safe to say that they are outright contenders for the Serie A title. Last night’s victory means Rossoneri have picked up 9 wins out of 10 league games this season while suffering no defeats. They have also leapfrogged Napoli to claim the top spot although the former have a game left in hand.

A much-needed win ahead of Roma, Porto games

Milan will not be carried away with last night’s victory as they are due to face AS Roma and FC Porto in their upcoming fixtures. Rossoneri will travel to the Italian capital on Sunday to take on Jose Mourinho’s side before hosting Porto in the Champions League in no time. While the game against Roma would be a mouthwatering prospect, the UCL encounter against Porto is also of utmost importance. Pioli’s men have suffered three consecutive defeats in the Champions League and the tie against Porto will be a make or break.
