Juventus picked up a morale-boosting win over Cagliari in the Italian League earlier today.

The Italian champions have faced a lot of criticism after the way they crashed out of the Champions League against Porto earlier this month.

Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo put in a splendid display against Cagliari on Sunday and he helped his side respond emphatically. The fans would have expected a big performance from their players today and Juventus managed to deliver.

The 36-year-old managed to score a spectacular hat trick in the opening 32 minutes of the match. It was his 57th hat trick in his career and Ronaldo continues to pull further clear as football’s record goalscorer.

Meanwhile, the home side scored a consolation goal through Giovanni  Simeone in the 61st minute.

Ronaldo sent a powerful message to his fans prior to the game where he explained that it is important to bounce back strongly after failures and he justified his message with a world-class performance earlier today.

Juventus are now third in the Italian League table with 55 points and they will be hoping to close the gap with leaders Inter Milan (65 points) in the coming pics.

The home side have done well since the arrival of Leonardo Simplici since he took over in February. It was their first defeat since the new manager took over.

The home side are now two points delete of the drop zone and they will be hoping to bounce back strongly in their next outing.
