Inter Milan and AC Milan set to battle it out for Julian Alvarez

Inter Milan and AC Milan are thought to be keen on signing the River Plate star Julian Alvarez.

According to calciomercato, the player is valued at around €25 million by his club.

The River Plate star has a contract with the South American club until the December of 2022 and the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenham, Ajax, Real Madrid, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on his situation as well.

The 21-year-old Argentine is regarded as one of the finest prospects in South American football right now and he could prove to be a quality long term addition for the two Italian Serie A clubs.

Alvarez can operate on either flank and he can lead the line as a centre forward as well.

The 21-year-old managed to score four goals and pick up seven assists across all competitions last season and he is likely to improve further with experience and coaching.

A move to Italy would allow the player to play at a higher level alongside better players.

AC Milan and Inter Milan are top clubs who have helped several youngsters fulfil their potential in the past and they could help unlock the argentine’s potential as well.

Stefano Pioli’s side could definitely use a quality attacking signing like Alvarez in January to boost their title bid after an impressive start to the season.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.

Both Milan clubs are exceptional institutions and Alvarez is likely to be tempted to join them in the near future.

The forward could be available for a bargain price because of his contract situation and he certainly has the talent to justify the outlay in the long run.
