Lecce

Leece will look to record their second win of the season when they welcome Fiorentina to Stadio Via del Mare.

The hosts haven’t exactly taken Serie A by storm in their comeback season, with their tally of seven points marking their worst start to a league campaign after nine games in the past decade.

While it can be argued that Lecce have shown heart to earn seven points from their last seven contests (W1, D4, L2), those games have seen them concede first, with their 2-1 win over Salernitana the only exception to that rule.

They will hope they can get another positive result in this game at home given that they have drawn their last three games at the Stadio Via del Mare. So the club supporters will be desperate to see their side secure all three points for a change.

The hopes of that happening are high when playing Fiorentina, considering that Lecce have only beaten Udinese (ten) more often than Fiorentina (nine) in top-flight football.

Possible Leece starting line-up

Wladimiro Falcone; Valentin Gandrey, Sameul Umtiti, Federico Baschriotto, Giuseppe Pezzella; Joan Gonzalez, Johann Helhason, Alexis Blin; Gabriel Strefezza, Assan Ceesay, Lameck Banda.

Injured: None

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Morten Hjulmand

Fiorentina

Fiorentina will look to end a two-game losing run in the league when they travel to Genoa on Monday.

The visitors have endured a poor start to the season, and come into this round sitting just two points better off than their hosts on account of winning just once (D3, L4) since their opening-day triumph in Serie A.

La Viola’s seven goals scored in Serie A goals marks a club record low at this stage of a top-flight season since they netted just five by the same point in 1986/87.

Despite their poor league form, they have been impressive in Europe. The visitors come into this tie on the back of a 5-1 win over Scottish Premiership side Hearts FC. The result made it eight goals in their last two Europa Conference League games and put them in a strong position to qualify from Group A.

Having ended a ten-game winless run on the road (D2, L8) with their first-leg win over Hearts FC, they will come into this tie confident of getting a decent result against a Leece who have the tendency to concede first.

Possible Fiorentina starting line-up

Pietro Terracciano; Dodo, Igor, Nikola Milenkovic, Cristiano Biraghi; Rolando Mandragora, Giacomo Bonaventura, Antonin Barak; Nicolas Gonzalez, Christian Kouame, Luka Jovic.

Injured: Riccardo Sottil

Doubtful: Gaetano Castrovilli

Suspended: None
