Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal have both shown interest in bringing Tammy Abraham back to England according to reports.
The striker who left England just last year has enjoyed life under Jose Mourinho in the Italian capital so far, bagging 27 goals in 53 games in all competitions. He was instrumental as AS Roma won the inaugural Europa Conference League last season, ending as the tournament’s second-highest scorer with nine goals.
The 24-year-old had enjoyed a promising start to his career in England with Chelsea but asked to leave the London club due to a lack of game time. Despite having such a little time in England, Abraham managed to score 90 goals in English football.
Such numbers and his current showing under Jose Mourinho in Serie A, have made Arsenal and Manchester United, who are both looking for strikers with the Premier League experience to be keen on his signature.
The Red Devils want Abraham as a replacement for the departing Edinson Cavani and the ageing Cristiano Ronaldo, whose long-term future at the club is in question.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with Gabriel Jesus, but should that fall through, the Gunners will also need a new striker as they look for a focal point ahead of their exciting midfield.
However, according to reports in Corriere Dello Sport, Abraham is happy at Roma and does not want to leave anytime soon despite the attention from Premier League elites.
Meanwhile, his former club Chelsea have not expressed interest in re-signing him yet. But they will be able to re-sign him for £69m in 2023 by activating a buyback clause in his contract.
Should Arsenal or United go for the England man this summer, it remains to be seen whether Tuchel and Chelsea will decide to join the race for their former frontman.
