The Italian football federation (FIGC) concluded on Tuesday that from next season the title race will be decided by a 90-minute play-off, followed straight by penalties if the two teams are level, i.e. overall points can’t decide who the champions are.

Of course, teams who are Lower down the table positions will still be decided by head-to-head results in the two Serie A games between two teams.

According to Sport Bible, Serie A winners are decided by Italy in terms of championships. While European places and relegation spots by playoffs until the 2005/06 season, when things moved to head-to-head.

Juventus are part of Serie A‘s great history. Juve reign in the Italy Serie A for nine years. Inter Milan and AC Milan are two subsequesnt winners in past years. Inter Milan and AC Milan are the rival clubs and share San Siro, Milan as their home.

The two clubs are almost tied in the final season but were ultimately separated by just two points. Milan were crowned as Serie A champions for this 2021-22 season.

Unlike Premier League (if two teams have the same points and goal difference, the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club having scored the most goals in League Matches in that Season) while Serie A decides positions on head-to-head if teams finish level on points, but it won’t be the case at the top.

Inter are hoping to be on top next season, with the ‘king’ Romelu Lukaku returning from Chelsea, Inter are busy strengthening their squad, especially for those incoming signings.
