Bayern Munich

Having already secured their place in the next round of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League season, Bayern Munich will look to become the first team to win all their group-stage games in the competition on three separate occasions.

The hosts have completely dominated Group C, winning all five games so far while scoring 16 times and conceding just two goals. They are the second-highest-scoring team in the UCL this year, with Napoli with 20 goals the only side with more goals.

The Bavarians have been in impressive form since they returned from the international break. They come into this tie unbeaten in nine games, with a 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund, the only blemish in that period.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side welcomes Inter to Munich on the back of a 6-2 win over Mainz in the Bundesliga. The result made it the fourth successive home game in which Bayern have won by at least four goals.

Although they have never beaten Inter at home in the UCL (D1, L3), they will fancy their chances of ending that poor record here, given that they have won their last 13 home group UCL games.

Possible Bayern Munich starting line-up

Sven Ulreich; Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Matthijs de Ligt, Josip Stanisic; Joshua Kimmich, Marcel Sabitzer; Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman, Sadio Mane; Eric Choupo-Moting.

Injured: Bouna Sarr, Thomas Muller

Doubtful: Manuel Neuer, Leroy Sané, Lucas Hernández

Inter Milan

Inter will travel to Munich in strong shape, hoping to avenge their 2-0 loss to the Bavarians in the opening round.

The Serie A side started their campaign with a 2-0 loss in the reverse fixture, but have only dropped points once since then; in a 3-3 draw with Barcelona at Camp Nou.

They secured a place in the next round of this competition with a 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen last time out. They followed up that win with a 3-0 win over Sampdoria on Saturday, making it four wins in a row for Simone Inzaghi’s men.

The result also made it seven games without defeat for Inter, who have scored three or more goals in four of their last five games in all competitions.

Having already secured a runner-up spot in this group, this fixture serves them an opportunity to improve on a desperate run of five wins from their last 14 UCL away outings (D3, L6). Perhaps even a draw would be welcome for the Nerazzurri as it would extend their unbeaten UCL run to five matches and mark their longest run in the competition without defeat since.

Possible Inter starting line-up

Andre Onana; Milan Skriniar, Francesco Acerbi, Stefan de Vrij; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Federico Dimarco; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.

Injured: Marcelo Brozovic

Doubtful: Dalbert

Suspended: None
