Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie has picked Sir Alex Ferguson as the best manager he has worked with.

The Dutch forward has worked with some world class managers like Arsene Wenger and Louis Van Gaal as well. But he thinks the Manchester United legend is a ‘super’ manager.

Van Persie explained that Louis Van Gaal is a tactical genius and Wenger is an amalgamation of Ferguson and Van Gaal.

However, he seems to think that Sir Alex was the complete package and the best of the lot.

He said: “Ferguson really was a super manager. It was so brilliant how he always kept the entire squad happy and focused. Wenger was a combination of Ferguson and Van Gaal. Arsene always emphasized all the positive things and he looked at what would work for the long term. Tactically he [Van Gaal] is a genius. You can’t deny that. ‘I have had managers who had their own strengths. But Ferguson really was a super manager.”

Ferguson has won every trophy at club level with Manchester United and he managed to deliver sustained success throughout decades.

Not only is he the best Premier League manager of our time, he is one of the greatest managers ever.

Therefore, Van Persie’s claims are certainly legitimate.

Neither Wenger nor Van Gaal has achieved as much as Ferguson in club football.

The Scottish manager build Manchester United into a European force from a very midtable side. Also, his contributions go beyond the pitch.

He also helped develop a big part of England’s golden generation back in the day.

The likes of Neville, Ferdinand, Scholes, Rooney and Beckham developed into superstars under his tutelage.

Even Van Persie had the best season of his career under the former Manchester United boss. He transformed the Dutchman into a match winner and Van Persie took United to their 20th league title.
