Manu Vallejo hits brace as Valencia come from behind to beat Levante

Los Ches came out on top in the derby.

Valencia have kickstarted their La Liga campaign with a big win against Levante.

Los Ches surrendered the lead in the less than a minute as Jose Morales scored the opener for Levante and later followed up with another goal around the 35th minute.

However, Valencia came from behind twice and wrapped up the game 4-2. Gabriel and Maxi Gomez provided the equalizers while Manu Vallejo came off the bench to fire a brace.

Vallejo, who moved to Mestalla from Cadiz last summer, has had his breakthrough performance against local rivals.

South Korean sensation Kang-in Lee also put in a shift, setting up two goals for Valencia. The 19-year-old hasn’t had the best of the debut season last term but has commenced this season in the best possible way.

Valencia manager Javi Gracia also handed Yunus Musah his debut with the senior team as the 17-year-old became the first English player to represent the club.

Gracia has previously stated that Valencia need new faces after the exodus of few first-team players including the likes of Dani Parejo, Rodrigo and Ferran Torres.

Los Ches endured a lacklustre last season both on and off the pitch, which saw them finish ninth in the table.

However, they are now off to a great start and will face Celta Vigo in their next fixture.

Meanwhile for Levante, Morales’ double wasn’t enough for the day, but the defeat will be an eye-opener for the forthcoming games.
