Lorient 3-2 PSG: Pochettino’s side suffer shock last-gasp defeat, despite Neymar brace

Neymar-PSG

Paris Saint Germain have been knocked down by struggling Lorient in a thrilling Ligue 1 game.

Mauricio Pochettino starts to feel the heat of his managerial job at PSG as he suffered the first defeat of his reign.

Lorient have beaten Paris Saint Germain 3-2 at home, turning the table with two goals in the dying minutes of the game.

The home side drew first blood when Abergel found the nets in the 36th minute before Neymar levelled it up for PSG from the penalty spot at the stroke of the half time.

Houboulang, who was the guilty party for Lorient conceding the first penalty, was at fault again when he fouled Mauro Icardi inside the penalty box. Neymar was spotless once again from the spot, helping the visitors go 2-1 up around the hour mark.

However, Lorient turned the tables by scoring two goals in the eleventh hour of the game, leaving the defending champions in tatters. Wissa scored the equalizer before Moffi came up with the winning goal in injury time.

The defeat was PSG’s first in nine games as their title race has taken a slight hit.

Pochettino is under pressure early in his reign as he is now tasked with taking Les Parisiens back to the top of the table.

The Argentine manager led PSG to an impressive 4-0 win over Montpellier last week but have fallen short against bottom dwellers Lorient. The French capital club will take on Nimes in their next league fixture.
