Erling Haaland can leave Manchester City for £150million in 2025, according to reports.

The Norwegian only signed for the Premier League side this summer, but it has been revealed that his contract at the Etihad comes with a reasonable release clause that can be activated in three years.

Haaland’s representatives have insisted in his recent contracts that release clauses are included, and his deal with Man City is said to be no different.

According to Spanish publication Marca, his Man City contract has two release clauses. The first, they say, is £172m and can be triggered in 2024. While the second is £150m and can be activated in 2025, opening the door to any potential suitors.

Many clubs wanted the former Borussia Dortmund player in Europe, including Real Madrid and Barcelona. And with the details of his contract now being revealed, his suitors can keep their eyes peeled on his situation in Manchester.

Haaland arrives in England as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.

Before arriving at City, he established himself as one of Europe’s most fearsome frontman, scoring 83 goals in just 87 games at the Signal Iduna Park.

Speaking after sealing his transfer to City, Haaland said;

“This is a proud day for me and my family.

“I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons.

“You can’t help but admire their style of play. It’s exciting, and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.

“There are so many world-class players in this squad, and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.

“I want to score goals, win trophies, and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here.

“This is a great move for me, and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.”
