Manchester City keen on AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez

Theo Hernandez-AC Milan

Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing the AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez.

The Premier League giants need to sign a quality left-back and Hernandez could prove to be a sensational addition for them.

Currently, the Premier League champions are reliant on Oleksandr Zinchenko as their first choice left-back especially with Benjamin Mendy entangled in legal issues.

Apparently, Paris Saint Germain are keen on the 23-year-old left-back as well and it will be interesting to see if Milan are willing to sanction his departure anytime soon.

Hernandez has developed into a key player for the Italian side and he has managed to score 15 goals and pick up 13 assists in his first two seasons with the Rossoneri.

There have been reports that the defender will only be sold for an offer of around €80 million or more.

Manchester City have a formidable squad at their disposal and the only chink in their armour is the left-back position.

The reported asking price should not be a problem for a club with Manchester City’s finances and it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds over the next few months.

It seems highly unlikely that Milan will sell a key player halfway through the season and therefore the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain might have to wait until the summer transfer window to sign the defender.

Furthermore, it has to be noted that AC Milan are back in the Champions League and they are under no pressure to sell the player next summer.

The 23-year-old has a contract until the summer of 2024 and if Milan continue to progress, it is unlikely that he will push for a move away.
