Paris Saint-Germain will take up their option to buy, on loan Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan during summer transfer.

The Argentine striker has scored 20 goals for PSG, and his future has been the subject of much debate due to contrasting and confusing reports that are floating around. Corriere dello Sport report that the French champions could trigger their option to secure Icardi permanently for £62million.

There have been contrasting reports in the media about its existence and Corriere dello Sport report that Icardi’s representatives claim it exists. But Inter have denied its existence.

Contrasting Reports on Mauro Icardi Transfer

It had previously been reported that former Inter Milan captain was not interested in making his loan move permanent. It is not known whether he has the power to veto the deal if PSG take up the option. As per The Sun, via reports in Italy, Wanda has angered PSG chiefs after telling the club that her partner wants a return to Italy when the season is over.

That seemingly didn’t go down well and so with no real hope of landing Icardi on a permanent basis and with the season currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, it has been suggested that he is being sent back to Inter early.

Juventus and AC Milan are both interested in signing the maverick forward this summer but may lose out to PSG.

Edinson Cavani is set to leave PSG this summer having seen Icardi usurp him in the team this season. Boca Juniors and former club Napoli are both interested in signing the 33-year-old Uruguayan, and PSG need to fill the void up front.

Icardi could slot in seamlessly having adapted well to life at the club. Whilst in the French capital, former Sampdoria player Icardi has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In almost 2000 minutes on the park, he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists.
