AC Milan came from behind to draw 2:2 with Genoa on Wednesday after a Mattia Destro brace had given the visitors the lead.
For the second time in four days, the Serie A pacesetters came from behind to claim a point to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Calhanoglu was the architect of the previous result, but this time it was a Pierre Kalulu’s late effort which preserved their unbeaten run to keep them one point atop the league table ahead of Inter Milan.
The Rossoneri went into this match without a loss in the league since March, with their host the last team to beat them in the league.
They began the match as the better side, keeping the ball well, but unable to do anything with it throughout the first half that had no real attempt on goal.
But both teams emerged from the break flying and within two minutes of the restart, the home teams were ahead thanks to Mattia Destro goal. The Genoa striker was on hand to bundle Shomurodov’s parried shot into the back of the net, following a Genoa counter.
Milan were soon level in the 52nd minute through Davide Calabria with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area.
