Milan 1-1 Atalanta: Atalanta hold Milan at San Siro

Milan 1-1 Atalanta Atalanta hold Milan at San Siro

Atalanta were held to a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in the Serie A at San Siro last night.

They had a great chance of closing the gap with Juventus with a win over Milan but their slip up could now end their chances of winning the title this season.

Juventus can now win the Scudetto if they manage to beat Sampdoria on Sunday.

Hakan Calhanoglu scored a fantastic free kick to put AC Milan ahead in the game and Atalanta scored the equalizer through Duvan Zapata.

However, they struggled to break down the Milan defense after that.

Atalanta have been outstanding going forward this season but Milan did very well to keep them quiet throughout the game.

The draw takes Atalanta up to 75 points in the league whereas AC Milan are now 6th with 60 points.

It will be interesting to see if Atalanta can finish their domestic season strongly by winning their next two games.

They are in the Champions League as well and they will be hoping to progress in the competition. They have been quite impressive in Europe so far and the Italian outfit will look to build on that.

They will be hoping to take advantage of Mbappe’s injury and beat PSG in the quarter finals of the competition next month.

As for Milan, they can still secure Europa league football for the next season and they will be desperate to finish the season strongly by winning their remaining games in the league.
