Mbappe ankle injury dampens PSG's 13th French Cup win

PSG won the French Cup with a 1-0 victory over Saint-Etienne last night.

Neymar scored the winning goal of the game for the Ligue 1 giants. Saint-Etienne were down to ten men but they put on quite a fight in the end. PSG had to work hard to get the win eventually.

Perrin was sent off for his vicious challenge on PSG star Mbappe. However, Saint-Etienne managed to keep Navas busy. Bouanga came close to scoring twice.

However, the win was marred by Kylian Mbappe’s injury. The Frenchman endured a horror tackle and it will be interesting to see how long he is out for.

PSG face an anxious wait to find out the true extent of his injury.

The French outfit will take on Atalanta in the Champions League quarter final next month and they cannot afford to be without Mbappe for the game.

PSG will be hoping to go all the way to the finals this year and win the trophy.

The club’s manager Thomas Tuchel has admitted his worries regarding the young winger’s injury as well.

He said: “Everyone is worried. Everyone who saw the foul is worried.  Of course I’m worried. I’m very happy because we won but we have to stay patient because we don’t have any news. I think he will undergo tests tonight”.
