Besiktas installed Disinfection Cabinet

Besiktas have installed a gigantic disinfection cabinet at the entrance to the club’s training ground as Turkish Super Lig sides begin to prepare for the resumption of the league. The humongous cabinet has 20 sides and players and staff alike will be forced to enter it with a mask before participating in training as one of the hygiene measures taken by the club to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The structure was produced by Turkish software company Etisan and will remain at BJK Nevzat Demir Facilities for the foreseeable future.

Super Lig Restart

The TFF’s president Nihat Ozdemir announced on a video conference four days ago that games will resume next month in empty stadiums with the aim to complete the respective season by July 26.

Besiktas were, alongside Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Trabzonspor, one of the few teams that had resumed training, although the last scheduled one was precisely suspended after the news broke. There have been 137,000 known coronavirus cases in Turkey and 3,739 deaths as of May 10.

The Turkish Super Lig has eight matchdays left, and if the season does resume, a thrilling title race lies in store with the very real possibility that someone other than the Istanbul big three will triumph for the first time since Bursaspor in 2010.

Trabzonspor and Istanbul Basaksehir are locked on 53 points at the top of the Super Lig table, with Galatasaray three points behind and Sivasspor a point behind them. Besiktas sit five points behind Sivasspor in fifth.
