Bayern Munich vs Paris Saint-Germain - 9 Talking Points
Bayern Munich vs Paris Saint-Germain - 9 Talking Points

Bayern Munich have become the champions of Europe for the sixth time after defeating PSG in the finals. Here we take a look at how the players fared?

PSG – Starting Eleven

Keylor Navas: 6.5

The former Real Madrid goalkeeper made nothing but one or two crucial saves throughout the entire game.

Thiago Silva – 6

Solid throughout the game and put up a great partnership with Presnal Kimpembe.

Presnal Kimpembe- 6

The French centre-back produced another impressive display, making two or three interceptions against Lewandowski.

Thilo Kehrer & Julian Bernat – 6

Both the full-backs were found limited and didn’t have any aspiring moments.

Leandro Paredes – 5.5

Not the performance you will expect from Paredes after he had run the show in the semi-finals. He was seen as the main outlet to release the pacey forwards but hardly achieved the task.

Marquinhos – 6

Another underrated performance from the Brazilian, always getting into the way of Bayern when they looked comfortable.

Ander Herrera – 5.5

Was good but not better enough in the finals.

Kylian Mbappe – 5.5

The most disappointing performance of the season for Mbappe as he had slipped up many clear-cut chances. The Frenchman was daunting with his pace but couldn’t use it to the maximum extent.

Neymar – 6

Looked to influence the game as he did in the previous two encounters but he had a shot denied by Manuel Neuer in the opening half of the game.

Angel di Maria – 6

The most hardworking forward of all yet couldn’t find his name on the scoresheet as he did in the semi-finals.

PSG – Substitute

Marco Verratti – 6

Julian Draxler -6

Bayern Munich – Starting Eleven

Manual Neuer – 8 – Man of the Match

Put up a man of the match performance and showed why he is the best of all his peers.

Jerome Boateng – 6

Was quickly taken off the field owing to an injury and replaced by Sule

Nicolas Sule – 6.5

The replacement for Boateng never put a foot wrong.

David Alaba – 6

Was overrun often in the first-half because of PSG’s attackers. Luckily none could find a goal.

Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies – 7.5

Both the full-backs resembled TAA & Robertson pair of Liverpool. Kimmich provided the assist for the only goal of the game and was effective in defensive transition. Davies looked lost in the first half but proved to be a constant menace to Kehrer.

Thiago – 7.5

ran the show in midfield and proved why he is one of the top midfielders in Europe at present

Leon Goretzka – 7

The German midfielder was equally competent with Thiago as he provided the much needed late runs into the box and made few clearances in the defensive phase.

Thomas Muller – 6.5

Haven’t had the Barcelona sort of performance.

Serge Gnabry – 6.5

Was dormant throughout the game and couldn’t repeat the heroics of the semi-final against Leipzig

Kingsley Coman – 7.5

Top of all Bayern players as he scored the winning goal. Coman was a surprise inclusion ahead of Perisic but the gamble paid off.

Robert Lewandowski- 6.5

Surprisingly the top scorer of UCL couldn’t enter the scoresheet. He had two chances denied in the first-half one by the post and another by Navas.

Bayern Munich – Substitute

Ivan Perisic  & Corentin Tolisso – 6

Philippe Coutinho – 6.5
