Lionel Messi Future: Ruggeri admission, Rivaldo claim, Manchester City – new suitors.

Lionel Messi-Barcelona

Lionel Messi has been heavily linked with a move away from Barcelona, with his contract expiring this coming summer.

Although the speculations looked to have lightened over the past two months, which coincided with his brilliant form, everything is back to square one following Barca’s humiliating defeat to PSG at home.

The Argentine looked completely dejected after the game as he barely got any help from his teammates.

Once again, the Catalan club’s continuous failure in the European competitions has cast a shadow on the 33-year-old’s future at the Nou Camp, with many weighing in on their thoughts.

Ruggeri admission

Former Real Madrid and Argentine defender Oscar Ruggeri has urged Messi to call it a time at Barca.

“Messi has to leave the club. He is still the best, but all the teams have lost respect for Barcelona.

“It’s over. He has to go, they did a lot of things to him, and we have come to this.”

Rivaldo claim

Ex-Barca star Rivaldo is confident that Messi would be looking at the possibility of joining Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian also stated that Messi had always been left stranded by the club.

“This may well have been Lionel Messi’s last match for Barcelona at Camp Nou in the Champions League. Based on the quality PSG showed,

“I want Messi to stay at Barcelona, but I understand why he’d want to leave at the moment when the club is not guaranteeing him good chances of fighting for important titles regularly.”

Manchester City in the hunt for Messi

Though PSG have been touted as the primary suitors for Messi, Manchester City are also waiting to play their cards this season.

A recent report adds that City’s proposed offer to Messi last summer has been reduced to £430m.
