Manchester United picked up a 3-0 win away from home against Aston Villa earlier at Villa Park.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Paul Pogba ensured the three points for the Red Devils.

Bruno earned the spot-kick, before converting it in the middle of the first half.

United scored the second when a Martial-Bruno-Mason move culminated into the back of the net. Greenwood’s attempt from 20 yards did not provide Reina with a chance, though it seems he reacted late due to obstruction in the line of sight.

Pogba scored at 58th minute from 20 yards, which was a typical training ground goal, from a Bruno Fernandez corner from the right flank.

Manchester United were comfortable throughout the game, and Aston Villa struggled to cope with their quality and intensity.

The win takes Manchester United up to 5th in the Premier league table, and they will be hoping to break into the top four soon. They are one point behind Leicester and two behind Chelsea now.

The Red Devils have been in the sensational form off late. They have scored 14 in their last four outings and have conceded just twice. If they can keep up this kind of form for the remainder of the season, they should be able to qualify for Champions League football.

Meanwhile, the defeat leaves Aston Villa 19th in the table. They will now need some luck to stay up. Dean Smith’s men are under immense pressure right now.

Solskjaer will be delighted with the performance of his players. Especially Greenwood and Fernandes have been in red hot form for the Old Trafford outfit.

Pogba seems to have found his rhythm as well. Manchester United could be genuine title contenders next year with a few quality additions.

It will be interesting to see if they can break into the top four before the end of the season now. Missing out on Champions League football could prove to be a major blow for United.
