Odion Ighalo is all set to continue his Manchester United adventure. According to Sky Sports, the Red Devils have agreed on an extension with Shanghai Shenhua and the striker will remain on loan at Old Trafford until January 31, 2021.

Ighalo joined Manchester United on loan in January and he has made quite the impact already.

The former Watford star was keen on completing this season and now it seems that he could play a few games of the next season as well.

He will miss the majority of the Chinese Super League games which begin later this month.

The Premier League will also return on the 17th of June.

Ighalo will be hoping to guide Manchester United to a top four finish now. Solskjaer’s men will be desperate to qualify for next season’s Champions League football.

They cannot afford to miss out on Champions League football for another season. It could be disastrous financially. Man United are currently in fifth position in league table. As Manchester City have to clear themselves in CAS, the fifth position team in Premier League could well be qualified to Champions League this year.

Meanwhile, Ighalo will sign a new deal with Shanghai Shenhua once his Manchester United stint is over.

His current deal with the Chinese club expires in 2022 and he will sign a deal worth £400,000-a-week until 2024.

It was one of the conditions put forward by the Chinese club before the loan extension was granted.

Initially, the Chinese outfit wanted Manchester United to agree to an obligation to buy but now it has been negotiated that the player will be allowed to extend on loan only if he signs a new deal.
