Manchester United are interested in signing the Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
The central midfielder has been outstanding for Ajax in the Dutch league as well as the Champions League.
He put in some strong displays against the likes of Real Madrid in Europe and it is no surprise that the top clubs want to sign him.
As per Ajax chief Edwin Van der Sar, Manchester United and Real Madrid are keen on the player.
Van der Sar said: “It’s clear that clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United are showing interest in Donny van de Beek.”
Manchester United need a midfield controller if Paul Pogba decides to leave this summer and Van de Beek would be a superb signing.
He is a top class talent who would improve United a lot. Alongside, Fernandes and Fred, he could form a very good partnership.
Van de Beek is not just a good passer. He will add goals to the side as well.
It will be interesting to see if United submit a bid for the player anytime soon. With Real Madrid involved in the chase as well, they will have to move quickly.
Los Blancos have enough resouces to outmuscle any club and they will be able to offer him regular Champions League football as well.
Manchester United did not play Champions League football this season and there is no guarantee that they will be a part of the competition next season.
If they do not secure a top four finish it will be tough for them to attract players of Van de Beek’s quality.
The Dutchman will not want to waste his peak years in the Europa League no matter how big the club is.
It will be interesting to see if United can pull off the transfer this summer.
