Manchester City are thought to be closing in on the signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old playmaker had an excellent season with the West Midlands club last year. It is no surprise that he has attracted the attention of the Premier League champions.

According to The Athletic, the move to take Grealish to Manchester City is at an advanced stage.

Grealish was one of the best chance creators in the Premier League last season, and he will certainly improve Manchester City in the final third.

The 25-year-old can operate as a central midfielder as well as a wide player. His versatility will be an added bonus for Pep Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola is looking to improve his midfield options this summer.

Grealish could prove to be a superb long term signing for Manchester City. The midfielder is well settled in the Premier League, and he could make an immediate impact if he moves to the Manchester club in the summer.

The Premier League champions will be hoping to defend their title next year. They will have to continue to improve their squad in order to stay ahead of the competition.

Manchester City have been linked with a move for the Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as well.

Aston Villa will be reluctant to sell Jack Grealish this summer, but Manchester City have the resources to fork out a lucrative offer for the midfielder.

Furthermore, the West Midlands club could be pressurized into selling the player if Grealish decides to force a transfer. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
