History
On February 20, 1992, the Premier League, also known as the English Premier League or EPL, was created. It is English football’s highest level. It is contested by 20 clubs and is based on the promotion and relegation structure used in the English Football League.

Format
In season 20 teams participate and play in a double round-robin format where each team faces all their opponents twice, in the home and away games. A total of 38 games are played, and they rank based on total points, goal differential and goals scored are used to rate teams. Teams are considered to be in the same place if they are all equal. A play-off match at a neutral site determines rank if there is a tie for the title, promotion, or qualification to other competitions.
