8 Premier League Players who could leave in January transfer window

Chelsea 1-0 Norwich Giroud kept Chelsea in Champions League race

With the winter transfer window looming, there are a handful of players who are facing an uncertain future with their respective clubs and could be shown exit doors. Here are the top players who could leave their club in the January transfer window.

Danny Rose

Rose has been living the worst moments of his career yet after being dumped out of the first team by Spurs manager. From being part of England’s World Cup playing 11 and featured in the Champions League finals for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino, Rose’s fall from grace happened in no time. There are higher chances for the 29-year-old to leave in January.

Dele Alli

Alli is the next player to be overlooked by Mourinho after being left out of the matchday squad in the past few games, to the irk of the player. Alli established himself as one of the most important players of Spurs under Pochettino, but everything has seemingly turned upside down under Mourinho. There are also reports stating that the 24-year-old could leave Spurs in January while PSG have shown interest in taking him on loan.

Olivier Giroud

Giroud’s importance, unlike the last season, has been reduced significantly following the arrival of Timo Werner. The French striker’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and the Blues would try to sell him in January. Antonio Conte, Inter Milan’s manager, is said to be interested in signing the Frenchman.

Emerson

Emerson Palmieri looked to have a bright future under his compatriot and then manager Maurizio Sarri, but ever since Frank Lampard took over the job, the Italian has gradually become a bench warmer at Stamford Bridge. Inter were interested in recruiting him in the summer but couldn’t sign him in the end.

Shkodran Mustafi

Mustafi was off to a disappointing start this season as he missed out certain games due to knee injury. Meanwhile, Arsenal have stuck to a three-man defence under Mikel Arteta, with Kieran Tierney, Gabriel Magalhaes and Rob Holding etching the place in the starting 11. Mustafi has also entered the final few months of his contract and could be sold in the next transfer window

Sokratis

Sokratis’ time at Emirates Stadium has literally come to an end when he alongside Mesut Ozil was excluded from the first-team squads of Premier League and Europa League for the 20/21 season. The 32-year-old was heavily linked with a move to PSG on the deadline day of the transfer window.

Paul Pogba

Pogba couldn’t have wished for such a disastrous start to this season as he was dropped out of Manchester United’s starting 11 on a few occasions. Being the club’s most expensive player, Pogba’s position never looked more vulnerable than this. The French midfielder has earlier claimed that there was no progress in contract talks and the Red Devils are also said to be interested in flogging him out.

Juan Mata

Mata has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford for the last two seasons, and a transfer could be on the cards in January given his contract will expire at the end of this season.
