Argentina picked up a 3-0 win over Uruguay in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and Lionel Messi scored an outstanding solo goal for his country.

The 34-year-old is currently the all-time leading scorer for his country and he is also South America’s all-time leading scorer in the World Cup qualifying matches.

Argentina have picked up 22 points after 10 matches and they are currently second in the standings six points adrift of leaders Brazil.

The Paris Saint-Germain attacker was seen floating the ball into the Uruguay box and it somehow ended up in the back of the net and Messi was himself in disbelief after the goal.

The former Barcelona star completed a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain during the summer transfer window and he has had a tough time at the French club so far.

The Argentine international has managed to score just once at club level this season but he showcased his tremendous quality for his country once again and he will be hoping to replicate that form at the club level now.

The 34-year-old attracted a lot of praise after his goal against Uruguay and it will be interesting to see if he can build on this performance and succeed at Paris Saint-Germain this season.

Messi is widely regarded as the best player of his generation and his sublime effort against Uruguay was hardly a surprise.

The 34-year-old has produced several moments of magic over the years for his country and club and his performance in the World Cup qualifiers will certainly excite the PSG fans going forward.
