The Italian midfielder has been in stunning form in Euro 2020

Juventus are ready to step up their interest in signing Italian midfielder Manuel Locatelli as Fabrizio Romano reports that the Old Lady will open talks with Sassuolo this week.

The 23-year-old has been in sublime form in Euro 2020, helping Italy to pick 3 out of 3 wins in Group A. He also struck a match-winning brace against Switzerland.

Perhaps, Juve have long been linked with Locatelli alongside several other Premier League clubs.

It has been reported recently that the Bianconeri are ready to offer 40 million euros plus U-23 player Rado Dragusin in a player-plus-cash deal to entice Locatelli to join Allianz Arena.

The newly appointed manager Max Allegri also cites the former AC Milan youngster as central to his plans for next season.

Earlier, it was reported that Sassuolo would look to offload their key midfielder should a suitable offer arrive while confirming the Old Lady’s interest.

Locatelli has grown by leaps and bounds at Sassuolo over the last two seasons after a troublesome spell he experienced at Rossoneri.

Now, Roberto Mancini, the manager of the Italian national team, is also benefiting from Locatelli’s rich vein of form as the Azzurri prepare for their round of 16 clash against Austria.

Juve are working on a summer overhaul after a disappointing 2020/21 campaign, where they lost their Serie A crown to rivals Inter Milan. However, Allegri would be looking to restore the Old Lady to their former glory, and an addition like Locatelli would be instrumental.
