After their exit from the Champions League, Bayern will turn their attention to the Bundesliga as they travel to Schüco Arena to face Arminia Bielefeld in the 30th round of the Bundesliga season.

Venue: Schüco Arena (Bielefeld)

Key Statistics

Arminia Bielefeld as a team lead the division for challenges contested (224 per game) and have covered the most distance (74.1 miles/119.2 km).

They have won just two of their 14 home games this term but have also only lost four.

Masaya Okugawa is Bielefeld’s eight-goal top scorer. He’s also previously scored against Bayern for Red Bull Salzburg in last season’s UEFA Champions League.

Bayern Munich are unbeaten in their last seven league games, winning five and drawing two times.

Robert Lewandowski has scored three goals in as many career games against Bielefeld.

Thomas Müller still leads the league for assists with 16, but hasn’t set up a goal in five appearances.

Only five of Bayern’s 27 Bundesliga wins against Bielefeld have been by more than a two-goal margin. The victory in Munich this season was only 1-0.

Both sides have scored in just four of Bielefeld’s last 15 Bundesliga matches.

Arminia Bielefeld

Arminia Bielefeld’s fight for survival continues for another day as they welcome league high flyers Bayern Munich.

The hosts come into this tie sitting in 16th place, one point behind Stuttgart, who are occupying the last safe spot.

They have lost five of their last six league games whilst winning only one of their previous nine fixtures. Their last game was a 4-0 loss to Wolfsburg and took their goals conceded tally to 43 this season.

This isn’t bad considering that seven teams have conceded more goals. However, it is in their attack that Frank Kramer’s side are plagued as they have scored 23 goals in the league, which is the lowest tally in the league. Their issues in front are set to intensify following news that talented forward Patrick Wimmer (G3, A6) will be joining fellow Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in the summer.

Bielefeld have now been kept off the scoresheet a whopping 12 times this campaign, the most in the Bundesliga, meaning that they will have to be in their best shape to get a result against Bayern.

Possible Bielefeld starting line-up

Stefan Ortega; Andres Andrade, Joakim Nilsson, Amos Pieper, Lennart Czyborra; Patrick Wimmer, Manuel Prietl, Alessandro Schopf, Robin Hack, Janni Serra, Masaya Okugawa.

Injured: Fabian Klos

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich will look to put their disappointment in the Champions League behind them when they travel to Bielefeld on Sunday.

The Bavarians crashed out of the Champions League last Tuesday after being held to a 1-1 by Spanish side Villarreal. And the record champions’ focus is now purely on wrapping up a 10th successive Bundesliga title.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side restored their nine-point lead over Borussia Dortmund with a 1-0 win over Augsburg last time out and could be crowned champions as early as next weekend if results go their way.

League’s top scorer Robert Lewandowski, who was on target against Augsburg and Villarreal – is also closing in on a fifth straight top scorer’s cannon – and seventh overall. The Pole has already scored 32 Bundesliga goals this season and will be desperate to get on the scoresheet in this game.

Meanwhile, Niklas Sule, Bouna Sarr and Corinth Tolisso are the only injury absences in this Bayern team.

Possible Bayern Munich starting line-up

Manuel Neuer, Benjamin Pavard, Tanguy Nianzou, Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, Robert Lewandowski.

Injured: Niklas Sule, Bouna Sarr, Corentin Tolisso

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
