Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has been linked with a move away from the German Bundesliga club for months now, and the player has now hinted that he could make a decision regarding his future soon.

According to a report from the Guardian, the Norwegian international has hinted that the German club are putting pressure on him to make a concrete decision regarding his future.

The player has been linked with a move to several top European clubs, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.

“The last six months, I have chosen not to say anything out of respect for Dortmund, but now the club has started to press me into making a decision,” Haaland said. “All I want to do is play football. But they press me … about my future, so that means I have to make a decision soon.”

When asked if he could decide imminently where he plays next season, Haaland added: “That is what they [Dortmund] want. It means things will happen now. They have started to put a lot of pressure on me, and I have to accept that … so now is the time to get things started.”

It seems that Dortmund are unwilling to wait until the summer in order to find out what the player decides, and they are keen on planning ahead.

It makes sense for the selling club to plan ahead so that they can bring in the necessary reinforcements before Haaland decides to move on.

The player will be available for a fee of around €75 million in the summer because of a release clause in his contract.

Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has recently stated that the player could join clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Real Madrid or Barcelona.

The likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid could certainly use a quality number nine like him, and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to pay his release clause this summer.

Barcelona could use a quality striker as well, but the Spanish club are currently going through a financial crisis, and they might not be able to afford the players fee and his wages.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a world-class striker over the past year, and he has the potential to improve further.

There is no doubt that Haaland has the quality to justify the reported €75 million outlay in the long run, and whoever ends up signing him will have a future superstar on their hands.
