Chelsea are keen on signing the Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz this summer.
As per reports, the Premier League giants will submit a £80m bid for the German ace.
Havertz is only 20 but he has already established himself as a star in Bundesliga. He has been linked with the likes of Liverpool as well.
It will be interesting to see if Havertz decides to join a Premier League club in the coming months.
The youngster is a world class talent but he should look to continue at Leverkusen for now. A move to the Premier League could stall his development.
He needs regular football at a club where he can express himself freely.
If he moves to Chelsea for £80m, there will be a lot of pressure on him to perform every week.
Havertz needs to focus on his football right now and he is better off staying out of the limelight for another year or two.
Furthermore, his style of play is more suited to a club like Liverpool.
It will be interesting to see how Lampard uses him if he manages to sign the player.
Havertz can play as the number ten or a false nine. Chelsea have someone like Tammy Abraham for that role and they have wide players like Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi.
Lampard would have to alter his tactics to fit in Havertz and that could affect the development of the other players.
The Blues are better off investing in a player that suits their current system.
