Newcastle and Wolves are keen on bringing Gonzalo Higuain to the Premier League once again.

The Argentine had a loan spell at Chelsea earlier but he failed to impress in English football.

At 32, he is far from his best and it would be a surprise if Newcastle or Wolves signed him.

He would be a decent back up option but Newcastle need someone who can start regularly and would be an upgrade on Joelinton.

As for Wolves, they have Jimenez and Jota at their disposal already. Nuno should look to invest in a younger prospect instead.

It will be interesting to see if the reported clubs make their move for Higuain in the coming weeks. Juventus are prepared to get rid of the player and he won’t cost a lot.

If he can regain his hunger and sharpness, he might still be a valuable squad player. But the transfer still seems like a gamble.

Newcastle are expected to have new owners soon and they will pump money into the playing squad. They should look to bring someone who is younger and is at the peak of his powers.

They have been linked with Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard for example. The Frenchman would be a terrific signing.

He has been in red hot form for Celtic and he has massive potential.

Similarly, Wolves must focus on their current strategy of recruiting talented young players. It has worked wonders for them so far.
