Real Betis

Real Betis will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome defending champions Atletico Madrid to Sevilla on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts have had a series of poor results recently and are coming into this game without winning in three games in all competitions (D2, L1).

Their last league outing was a stinging 2-1 La Liga loss to fierce rivals Sevilla last weekend. However, they secured their first appearance in the Copa del Rey final since 2004/05 in midweek thanks to a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano.

The result will have raised morale ahead of this tough match against a fellow top-three chaser.

Betis have enjoyed a successful season so far. They are currently occupying the third position in the league standings and could end the season with a first Champions League appearance since the 2005/06 season.

With four victories from six prior league outings (L2), Betis will fancy their chances of getting a good result in this game. But they will have to improve on their recent home league form, though, as Betis have now suffered three defeats across seven prior La Liga home outings (W4), as many as they had in the previous 22 such matches combined (W12, D7).

Meanwhile, Real Betis will be without key midfielder Sergio Canales through suspension, while Victor Camarasa, Juan Miranda, and Martin Montoya are injured.

Possible Real Betis starting line-up

Claudio Bravo; Hector Bellerin, German Pezzella, Victor Ruiz, Alex Moreno; Guido Rodriguez, William Carvalho; Cristian Tello, Nabil Fekir, Juanmi; Borja Iglesias.

Injured: Victor Camarasa, Juan Miranda and Martin Montoya

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Sergio Canales

Atletico Madrid

They may be out of the title race, but Atletico Madrid still have a lot to play for this season.

They are still in the Champions League and are currently in a race to finish in the top four.

Diego Simeone’s side come into this tie sitting outside of the top four but could end the weekend sitting in third place if they win this game and results elsewhere favours them.

The defending champions have now recorded back-to-back league wins ‘to nil’ and who travel here desperate to get a third consecutive win.

Meanwhile, Atletico will be without suspended Stefan Savic for this tie, while Mario Hermoso, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Matheus Cunha and Daniel Wass will not feature due to varying injuries.
