Liverpool are preparing a unique financial plan to lure Timo Werner to Anfield this summer.
Due to the current health crisis, clubs have faced huge losses in the recent months and big money signings will be hard to pull off this summer.
Liverpool are keen on Werner but they will struggle to afford his €60m release clause. Therefore, they are looking to offer a reduced fee spread across multiple payments.
It will be interesting to see if RB Leipzig agree to that offer for their star striker.
Werner has been on fire this season and he would be a tremendous signing for Liverpool. However, convincing the Germans will be an uphill task for the Reds.
They do have a relationship with Leipzig and the two clubs have dealt in the past. Maybe that could help Liverpool sign Werner.
Liverpool signed Naby Keita from the German club earlier for a similar fee.
Werner is thought to be keen on a move to Liverpool and he wants to work with Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds already have a world class attacking trio but Werner would improve them further. He could lead the line for Liverpool next season and allow Firmino to drop down and play as the number ten.
The Brazilian is not as clinical when leading the line and he performs better in a more creative, withdrawn role.
Werner’s playing style suits Klopp’s fast-paced attacking football and in a footballing sense, it would be a match made in heaven.
