Monchengladbach midfielder Hofmann drops transfer hint

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder and Chelsea target Jonas Hofmann has confirmed there is interest from other clubs.

The 28-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for the Blues since Thomas Tuchel took charge, with the German manager eyeing a reunion as both had previously worked together at Borussia Dortmund.

Hofmann, who is rated at £14m, has been impressive for Marco Rose’s side this season, racking up 5 goals and 9 assists in Bundesliga thus far.

When questioned about the interest from the Blues, Hofmann replied: I think it’s clear that other clubs will notice you if you perform well. Therefore, it is possible that one or the other has already asked.’

‘Nevertheless, for me, the absolute focus is on having a successful season with Borussia and dedicating myself fully to success. I put my personal situation under it.’

AC Milan eyeing cut-price deal for Tomori.

AC Milan have decided to sign Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori permanently however they want to do it at a reduced cost.  Both the clubs are said to have agreed to a fee worth £26m for the centre-back in January but the Rossoneri want to lower the fee.

Milan sporting director Paolo Maldini on Tomori: Tomori is a good talent and we have a buy-option clause

The price is very high. AC Milan will decide at the end of this season and we will discuss it with Chelsea’s board.”

Ferdinand urges Tuchel to rely on Werner, Ziyech and Havertz

Chelsea signed the attacking trio of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz last summer in a relentless transfer spree but none have made a great start to their Blues career.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand feels that Tuchel should get the best out of the attacking trio moving forward.

“These are three players (Ziyech, Havertz and Werner) that were tearing up their leagues where they came from so he needs that to be transferred into the Premier League.”
