Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has had a torrid time at Old Trafford since his £35 million move from Ajax and the Dutch international has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

According to Daily Mail, the player’s teammates have now encouraged him to switch agents in a bid to force a move away from the Red Devils.

It is evident that Solskjaer does not rate the midfielder highly enough to give him a regular chance in the first team and he needs to move on for his own benefit.

The former Ajax midfielder needs to play regularly in order to cement his place in the national team squad ahead of the World Cup next year.

The report from Daily Mail adds that the midfielder has already informed his representative Guido Albers that his services are no longer required and the Dutch international has appointed Ali Dursun as his new agent.

The likes of Victor Lindelof and Frenkie de Jong are represented by the same agent.

Apparently, the midfielder has had talks with the likes of Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding a January loan move.

The player wanted to leave in January 2021 as well.

Van de Beek has made just four Premier League starts since joining the club and it remains to be seen where he ends up in January. He was one of the most exciting young players around Europe during his time at Ajax and he will need a fresh start to recapture that form and confidence.

The 24-year-old helped Ajax reach the semi-finals of the Champions League during his time at the club.
