Norwich City

Norwich City continued their impressive run in 2022 with a 1-0 win over Wolves in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday. The hosts dumped Wolves out of the FA Cup on their own turf, with Kenny McLean heading home the game’s only goal on the stroke of halftime.

The Canaries look like a newborn side under Dean Smith, with the former Aston Villa coach overseeing four wins in their last five games.

The win over Wolves followed a 3-0 win over Watford two weeks ago. That last PL win means they come into this tie sitting in 17th place, one point outside of the relegation zone.

They will need a miracle to secure their top-flight status for another year.

Although they have won four of their last five games, two in the Premier League, history suggests that they cannot get a third win on the bounce. Not since 2012 Norwich have strung together a three-game winning run in the top flight.

Meanwhile, a tally of seven goals scored at home remains the worst in the division, with Smith’s side failing to score in four at Carrow Road before putting two past Everton last month.

Possible Norwich starting line-up

Angus Gunn; Max Aarons, Grant Hanley, ben Gibson, Brandon Williams; Kenny McLean, Billy Gilmour, Lees Melou; Joshua Sargent, Teemu Pukki, Milot Rashica.

Injured: Tim Krul, Ozan Kabak, Jakob Sorensen.

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Crystal Palace

After their FA Cup exertions last weekend, Crystal Palace will turn their attention to the Premier League when they travel to Carrow Road this Wednesday.

With many big sides kicked out of the FA Cup over the weekend, Patrick Vieira’s side ensured that they would not be humiliated by lower-league opposition in front of their own supporters by seeing off League Two’s Hartlepool United.

First-half strikes from Marc Guehi and Michael Olise propelled Patrick Vieira’s side into round five, where they will host Stoke City.

However, in the Premier League, Crystal Palace last game was a 3-1 home loss to Liverpool. That loss means that the Eagles, who now occupy the 13th spot in the table after 22 games, have now taken just one point from their last three in the top flight.

Their last PL win was against Norwich – a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture. Given their record, they will fancy their chances of taking maximum points from this game.

But having failed to win in five on the road and scoring only once in their last four away games, the visitors will certainly have to dig deep to get a good result here.

Possible Crystal Palace starting line-up

Vicente Guaita; Joel Ward, Andersen, Marc Guehi, Tyrick Mitchell; Will Hughes, Connor Gallagher, Jeffrey Schlupp; Michael Olise, Odsonne Edouard, Wilfried Zaha.

Injured: None

Doubtful: Cheikhou Kouyate

Suspended: None
