Premier League Transfer Update: Vardy, Doherty, Rodriguez, Chilwell

Championship playoffs for Premier League qualification

The Premier League clubs are already working hard to improve their squad ahead of the new season and several quality players are expected to join English football in the coming weeks.

James Rodriguez

According to reports, Everton are close to signing James Rodriguez from Real Madrid. The Colombian has fallen out of favour at Santiago Bernabeu and he needs to move on in order to play regular first-team football.

Carlo Ancelotti has worked with the Colombian midfielder before and he could be the one to resurrect Rodriguez’s career.

Ben Chilwell

In other other news, Chelsea have completed the transfer of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.

The Premier League Giants are paying a fee of around £50 million for the young left-back and it will be interesting to see if he can solve their defensive problems next season.

Chilwell is highly rated in England and he would certainly be an upgrade on the likes of Alonso and Palmieri.

Jamie Vardy

Meanwhile, Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has signed a new deal with the club. He’s a key player for Brendan Rodgers side and his decision to commit his long term future to the club will come as a massive boost to the fans.

James Maddison has agreed on a long term deal with the club as well.

Matt Doherty

Finally, Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Matt Doherty from Wolves.

The 28-year-old is expected to replace Aurier in the first team next season.

Doherty has been a star for Wolverhampton Wanderers and he should prove to be a quality addition to Jose Mourinho’s defence.

The Londoners are expected to pay around £16 million for the experienced right back.
