Tottenham Hotspur keen on Christian Eriksen reunion, Antonio Conte hints at summer move

Christian Eriksen-Inter Milan

Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen completed a return to the Premier League during the January transfer window, and he has signed a six-month contract with Brentford.

The midfielder has passed his medical checks with the Premier League club, and he is set to get back to playing regularly with Brentford now.

The player had to terminate his contract with Inter Milan earlier in the season because the Italian league does not permit a player to compete with an ICD device fitted to his heart.

It will be interesting to see whether Eriksen can regain his confidence and sharpness with regular football at Brentford now.

The player is reportedly a target for Tottenham Hotspur, and the Londoners could make a move to sign him in the summer.

The Danish international played his best football with Tottenham before leaving the club for Inter Milan, and the chance to return two sports could be a tempting proposition for him.

Furthermore, a report from Sky Sports claims that the Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte is keen on bringing the player back to the London club at the end of this season.

The Italian has worked with Eriksen during their time together at Inter Milan, and he has hinted that the player could be back at the London club in the summer.

The 29-year-old might not be the player he was during his previous spell at Tottenham, but he could be a useful option for Conte, and he would also be available on a free transfer.

“For sure, Eriksen is part of Tottenham’s story. To come back here would be a good opportunity for him, for me, for the club,” Conte said.

“But now he’s signed for Brentford, only six months, and we’ll see what happens.

“I’m the first person to be happy to see him again on the pitch because we spent a really good time at Inter Milan together.

“We won the league. We spent two important seasons together. I wish him all the best for the future. And you don’t know what will happen.

“It would be good for me to have him again, to work together.”
